Sustainable Exhibition Stands

Sustainable Stand Building: Build Once, Use Many Times.

For us, sustainability is a way of building that we practise every day. With modular systems, consistent reuse and regional production, we create exhibition stands that make ecological and economic sense. Up to 85 per cent of the stand substance flows back into the next appearance.

Two Sides of the Same Coin: Ecology and Economy

Many exhibition stand builders claim sustainability but mean little more than a recyclable carpet. We understand it as something more fundamental: constructing a stand so that it does not end up as bulky waste after three days of a trade fair. Sustainable exhibition stand construction begins at the planning stage and is decided long before set-up, namely in the question of whether a stand is a disposable product or a system that lasts for years.

The ecological benefit and the economic benefit go hand in hand. A stand that is deployed several times consumes less material, produces less waste and costs less over its lifetime. That is exactly the path we take as an exhibition stand builder near Frankfurt, with modular system construction, our own production in the Rhine-Main region and short transport routes to the Frankfurt exhibition grounds.

For you as an exhibitor that becomes one simple test question for any exhibition stand builder: what happens to the stand after the fair? An answer involving storage, reuse and a digital inventory means sustainable work. An answer involving the skip means they sell you the same build again every year. Our elements return to the warehouse and go out again.

Ecological Sustainability: Reuse Instead of Throwing Away

At the heart of our sustainable build method is the modular Aluvision system. The load-bearing structure consists of precise aluminium profiles and frames that can be dismantled, recombined and reused as often as needed. Instead of bonding graphics onto panels once and disposing of them afterwards, we work with textile coverings that are tensioned, taken down, stored and used again. Lighting runs on long-lasting, energy-efficient LED technology.

This is how the material recovery rate of up to 85 per cent comes about. Adding up the base structure, frames, fabric coverings, lighting, furniture and technology, the permanently reusable substance accounts for the lion's share of a stand. Essentially, the only items produced anew for each trade fair are genuine consumables, such as updated graphic prints or project-specific custom parts. Everything else goes into our digitally catalogued warehouse and waits for its next deployment.

That reduces not only waste but also the ongoing resource and energy demand of new production. A stand concept designed for reuse saves the manufacture of a complete stand every single time.

Economic Sustainability: The Advantage for Your Budget

Sustainability pays off for you directly. If you exhibit regularly, a system stand means buying the load-bearing structure once and using it across many trade fairs. From appearance to appearance we adapt graphics, layout and size without having to rebuild the stand each time. The investment is spread across several deployments and the cost per show goes down.

  • Multiple use: one base structure, many trade fairs, predictable follow-up costs.
  • Flexibility: the same components can be reassembled for different stand sizes.
  • Less new production: only graphics and custom parts are renewed per appearance.
  • Value retention: a digitally catalogued warehouse, well-maintained components, a long service life.

An environmental decision thus becomes a sound business decision. Over its lifetime, a sustainable stand is usually the more economical stand.

04 — Materials & Region

Materials and Regional Production

Durable Materials

Aluminium as the base structure, textile coverings instead of single-use film, repairable and separable components for custom constructions.

Own Workshop

Production with CNC machining and a paint shop in the Rhine-Main region. Short lines of communication, tight control over quality and material use.

Short Transport Routes

From Offenbach it is only a few minutes to the Frankfurt exhibition grounds. Fewer kilometres driven mean fewer emissions during set-up and dismantling.

Digitised Warehouse

Every system component is catalogued and quickly retrievable. This allows the stock to be reused purposefully for the next appearance.

Energy-Efficient Technology

LED lighting and modern media technology reduce power consumption during the trade fair.

Repair Instead of Replace

Damaged parts are repaired, not thrown away. That extends the service life of the entire stand.

05 — System Partner

Aluvision as a Sustainable System Partner

As an Aluvision partner we rely on a modular kit system developed for exactly this kind of reuse. The frames, connectors and fabric coverings are matched to each other, durable and internationally available. That gives you the freedom to use the same system approach for years and across different trade fairs, and gives us the basis for a high material recovery rate.

Where your appearance needs an individual character, we combine the system with custom-made elements from our own workshop. The stand stays distinctive and sustainable at the same time.

06 — Your Benefit

What Sustainable Stand Building Means for Your Appearance

Credibility

A visibly sustainable stand supports your sustainability communication towards customers and partners instead of undermining it.

Predictable Costs

Reuse makes your trade fair budgets calculable over several years and lowers the cost per appearance.

Speed

Proven system components shorten production and set-up times, especially for short-notice requests.

07 — Life Cycle

Sustainability Across the Entire Life Cycle

Sustainable exhibition stand construction is not decided at a single point but at every station of a stand's life. Already at the planning stage we define which components come from stock and what has to be newly produced. In production we focus on clean separation of materials and durable workmanship. During set-up and dismantling our team handles components with care so they reach their next deployment undamaged.

After the trade fair the stand does not go to disposal but back into our digitised warehouse. There it is inspected, cleaned and, where necessary, repaired. This keeps the substance ready for use over many years. This continuous cycle is the real reason we achieve such a high material recovery rate. If you would like to learn more about how we work and about our team, visit our About us page.

Plan

Use existing stock and limit new production to what is needed.

Build

Manufacture for longevity and keep materials cleanly separable.

Deploy

Careful set-up and dismantling by our own team.

Return

Inspect, clean, repair and put back into storage.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about sustainable stand building

Sustainable stand building means planning and constructing a stand so that it can be used several times and reconfigured again and again instead of being disposed of after one trade fair. We work with modular Aluvision systems, manufacture in our own regional workshop and keep transport routes to the Frankfurt exhibition grounds short. Material consumption, waste and costs all go down at the same time.
The core of a stand consists of reusable system components: aluminium profiles, frames, fabric coverings, LED tiles, furniture and technology. We store these parts digitally catalogued and redeploy them in changing configurations. Only genuine consumables such as some graphic prints or custom-made items are produced anew for each trade fair. In total, up to 85 per cent of the stand substance flows back into the next appearance.
Looked at over a single appearance, a system stand is usually cheaper than a single-use build. Across several trade fairs the advantage becomes even clearer, because the load-bearing structure already exists and only graphics and layout are adapted. With modular construction, sustainability and cost-effectiveness go hand in hand.
We rely on durable aluminium as the base structure, textile coverings instead of single-use film bonding, energy-efficient LED technology and reusable furniture. Where individual components are required, we choose materials that can be repaired, separated and recycled.
A modular system can be dismantled, reassembled and used for years. A purely single-use build is often scrapped after just one trade fair. Modular construction means plannable reuse, less waste and lower resource consumption, without giving up an individual appearance.
Yes. Reusable modules, short transport routes and less waste can be made visible in your sustainability communication and ESG report. On request we compile the relevant information about your stand for you.
